Secretagogue
A growth-hormone-releasing analog examined in preclinical secretagogue research.
Type
Synthetic peptide (GRF analogue)
Molecular formula
C165H269N47O46
Molecular weight
~3,647 g/mol
CAS number
446262-90-4 (with DAC); 863288-34-0 (no-DAC)
Amino acids
29
Modification
Tetrasubstituted GRF(1-29) with a C-terminal Lys-linked maleimidopropionyl albumin-binding group (DAC); C-terminal amide.
A synthetic analogue of growth-hormone-releasing hormone (GRF 1-29) that binds the GHRH receptor (GHRHR), a class B GPCR on pituitary somatotrophs. The DAC group enables reversible covalent binding to serum albumin. A no-DAC variant (Mod GRF 1-29; ~3,368 g/mol; PubChem CID 91976842) is also offered.
Research Focus
Studied in GHRH-receptor pharmacology and growth-hormone / IGF-1 axis research.
Lyophilized
-20°C
typically stable 24-36 months desiccated and protected from light.
Reconstituted
2-8°C for short-term use
-20°C/-80°C for longer storage.
Avoid freeze-thaw; aliquot; protect from light and moisture. The DAC maleimide group is thiol-reactive.
