What do the endotoxin, heavy-metals and microbial tests on a peptide COA mean?

Beyond identity, purity and net peptide content, a fuller panel adds an endotoxin test, a microbial screen, a heavy-metals test, a fentanyl screen and an appearance check. Each answers a separate question about what else is in the vial, and each appears as its own line on the certificate.

What are the eight tests on a full panel?

Three tests run on every Luvaminos lot. Select products carry a full eight-test panel, which adds the other five.

TestThe question it answersHow to read it
Identity (mass spectrometry)Is the main component the compound on the label? The measured mass should match the expected molecular weight
Purity (HPLC)How much of the sample is the target compound?A percentage of total peak area, read with its method
Net peptide contentHow many milligrams of peptide are in the vial?Read in milligrams against the labelled amount
EndotoxinHow much bacterial endotoxin is present?Reported in endotoxin units (EU) or as a pass against the stated threshold
Microbial screeningWas microbial material detected?Read the laboratory's verdict word on the line
Heavy metalsAre lead, mercury, cadmium and arsenic present? Each metal is reported against a reporting limit
Fentanyl screenWas fentanyl detected in the sample?Reported as detected or not detected
AppearanceWhat does the powder look like?A physical description of the dry material

Which products carry the full panel?

Select products. The three core tests run on every lot without exception, and a lot's certificate lists every test that was run on it, so the certificate itself is the place to check. Open the lot's page in the certificate library to see its lines.

How do you read a result on one of these lines?

A verdict such as a pass is a statement against a limit or a threshold, and the certificate states which. Read the qualifying clause beside the verdict, because that is where the limit, the assay or the reporting limit is named.

Each line describes the sample tested for one lot on one date, like the rest of the certificate. Matching the lot on the vial to the lot on the certificate is what ties the line to the material you hold.

Questions

What is an endotoxin test on a peptide certificate?

A test for endotoxin, a molecule from the outer membrane of certain bacteria. It measures how much is present in a sample, in endotoxin units (EU).

What does a heavy-metals test report?

Each metal, such as lead, mercury, cadmium and arsenic, measured in the sample and read against a reporting limit.

Do all Luvaminos lots have the eight-test panel?

No. Identity, purity and net peptide content run on every lot. Select products carry the full eight-test panel, and each certificate lists the tests run on that lot.

Where do I see which tests ran on my lot?

On the lot's certificate in the certificate library, or by scanning the QR code on the vial.
